It looks as if spring is finally on its way. Before it gets here, I think its time for my readers to prepare for some spring-cleaning. Usually in fashion, people refer to spring-cleaning as an act of getting rid of old clothing. Here at Fashion Fridays we want it to pertain to all aspects of your life and not just your closet.

Thoughtful Thursdays - Maybe Men Are Not From Mars

This week at Thoughtful Thursdays we are giving the single men an opportunity to help us learn about LOVATIONSHIPS! As always, I believe you will find it Love-sightful, Love-Enlightening and Loveshipfull and full of Learning Keys!

You know as I grow and continue this wonderful work on LOVATIONSHIPS I have a growing concern that the word “LOVE” does not become a slang word or worse, a cliché. It is my opinion that the word love is not a word to simply Say; it is a term we use to give expression to the innermost being of ourselves. (k) Love is who you are. Love is a movement. You are the action of love. Love is a flowing movement. It is in you because it is you. If you allow yourself to become still enough you can experience the love that is inside of you. If you are not used to this experience, try this. (k) Get yourself to be still and mentally quiet. Then ask your inner self to reveal to you your love inside. It will pop up for you. It will tend to feel like a shot of adrenalin and then it will fleet away almost as fast as it came. Sort of like a flicker, you thought you saw but then it disappeared and you were no longer sure you saw it. Don’t despair and don’t doubt the feeling. You can do it again and experience the same thing. The more you practice this the more you will bring the love you are into filling you up from the inside source until it also covers the outside of you. It is then available for you to wear every day. I hope you will do this until this happens for you because then we can have conversations about how you now find that you posses a magnificent personal power and you create magic in your life. I am excited for you and cannot wait to have that conversation with you.

#FashionFridays - The Girl Power Edition

Fashion Friday’s readers, it is officially March 1^st! Usually during the winter, I hibernate and come back out around spring time, but yours truly has been out and about attending several events to give you all a first look at what’s going on in the Metropolitan Area. This week I had the honor of attending The Women’s Elevation Magazine launch as well as an exclusive live performance by R&B recording artist RaVaughn at the DTLR Radio launch party. The majority of the interviews conducted in February were with several influential men in the fashion/entertainment industry. Today we highlight two women who are on the journey of leaving their footprints in the hearts of the entertainment industry. Both of these women stand for elevating women thus we call this weeks Fashion Fridays the Girl Power edition.

First up, we have Miss DeLisha Sylvester, CEO/Founder of the Women’s Elevation Magazine.

Sophisticated Sunday: Behind-the-Scenes with Judges of House Studio DC’s Artist Grant

You may recall my previous story, published in November, about the House Studio DC Artist Grant and the opportunity of a lifetime and investment from House of more than $30,000 per artist for development of music, marketing, media, videos and much more.

From 342 applications received, House narrowed down the nationwide search to 20 finalists, and today I had the honor of sitting on a panel of judges to select the final six whose lives and careers will change forever.

THE JUDGES.

February 1st eh?

How awesome is it that you are starting the first day of the month reading this special #FashionFridays segment !

It always brings a smile to my face when I see people close to me doing well and that’s what’s going to make this segment so special to me.

While doing my weekly magazine shopping I came across the December/January issue of XXL magazine. The first thing I notice is Chris Brown and when I look closer, he is wearing the “Holy Crew” tee from the Spring 2013 collection of my friends Quinn Aston and Ugo Mozie of Aston Mozie clothing line! I had the opportunity to meet and become great friends with both Quinn Aston and Ugo Mozie around the beginning of 2010. I attended their first Fashion Week fashion show and from there it was history.
