Wonderland Cool Tour's Reesa Renee

By Natasha T. Brown

From spectacular lighting and production, an eclectic performance lineup down to the headliner, iTunes Charting “Neo-Hip” Soul Singer Reesa Renee, the Wonderland Cool Tour Finale presented by Sports Zone Elite on Friday, August 23, gave attendees at The Fillmore in downtown Silver Spring a never-before-seen festival-style concert inclusive of soul, pop, R&B, hip-hop, rock-n-roll and indie rock!

“This event is one of the most artistic and professional events I’ve seen in at least 15 years coming out the DC Metropolitan area! It was put together so gracefully and I am proud to have witnessed this new cultural movement. DC has truly evolved a new Renaissance and is a leading factor with such unique artists as Reesa Renee and her team. Phenomenal Work!” said Actress/Host TuLuv Price.

“The Wonderland Cool Tour was amazing! No indie artist from the DMV has done it that big before! Congrats Reesa Renee and team because it was phenomenal,” said 368 artist Visto.

Wonderland Cool began with an indie rock performance by Redline Graffiti, then Hippie Life Krew moved the crowd with an energetic set that included glow sticks for the crowd and one member “Purp Man,” wearing an all purple suit. Next, R&B Singer Ronnell Brian gave his all and won over the hearts of many of the ladies. Incwell and his band dedicated their performance to the home team, The Washington Redskins, singing “Hail to the Redskins,” with Event Host EZ Street of WKYS FM.

Rock Band Bonnie Rash then surprised the audience, with a wild performance that included their own “twerk” girl. Afterwards, the legendary Backyard Band performed for a highly enthused crowd. Their hits, including Jay-Z’s “Holy Grail,” and regular calls-outs, “Go Reesa, It’s your birthday!” prepared the audience for the headliner.

Reesa Renee closed the Wonderland Cool Tour with two remarkable 45- minute sets, complete with her four-piece band and Broadway style dancers, choreographed by DMV Native LaTanya Swann, the first winner of BET’s Born to Dance. Her dearest fans sang along to “So Easy,” and “Got Me Loose.” Hip-Hop Artist RAtheMC made her second cameo of the night (first during Incwell’s set) for she and Reesa’s duet “Listen.” At the end, Reesa’s song, “Wonderland Cool” exploded into a 20 minute encore, sending the crowd over the top in fist pumps, head rocks and fans screaming the song’s hook, “To be fresh, to be cool, to be fly, to just BREATHE.”

DC area Hip-Hop Artist Awthentik wrote, “Reesa Renee just raised the bar for anyone doing music in the DMV. She put on one of the most incredible shows last night at The Fillmore.”

“That show was epic. Everyone was good ...that's the type of show I want to attend,” said Music Journalist and Publicist Angela Byrd.

The Wonderland Cool Tour finale was the closing concert and birthday celebration to complete Reesa Renee’s recent performances in Los Angeles, Canada, Baltimore and Atlanta.
