The weather is finally breaking! This gives people a reason to start pampering themselves more and most importantly, it gives people a reason to spruce up their closets. #FashionFridays male readers, I am trying to find a menswear designer or stylist to interview and help out your closets but today it is all about my ladies. Although this is for the ladies, gentlemen I am sure there is a special woman in your life that you can shop for or at least suggest designers to, so I am here to help!
On April 11, 2013 I attended the Shecky’s Girls Night Out Tour in Washington DC at Constitution Hall. Sponsored by companies Veet, Sweet N’ Low , Smirnoff and more, this event was everything a woman needs after a long day at work. There were workshops for styling, self-esteem, health, and dating. Not only could women attend workshops, but there were a variety of vendors there offering products from skin care treatment to clothing and shoes.
My sole purpose for being there was to cover our #FashionFridays spotlight of the week. This vendor was one of the most popular tables at Shecky’s Girls Night Out. The table had the most stylish clothing , accessories and overall best looking presentation.
#FashionFridays readers, I would like to introduce you to the owner and CEO of B.Fly Apparel, Miss Marisa Nicole.
Miss Marisa is what I like to call a “Jill of All Trades” in the fashion industry. Not going to spoil the interview, but this is a lady that wears multiple hats, from owning a clothing company to being a wardrobe consultant. She's versitile, smart, and a sharp businesswoman! So, lets get to know Miss Marisa a little more...
When did you fall in love with fashion?
I fell in love with fashion when I was 7 years old. I use to watch Diana Ross perform in her various gowns and dresses with such grace and poise. She was my fashion ICON. Classy, Elegant, and very fashionable!
B. Fly was morphed because of my life-long passion for fashion, my unique expression of style and my desire to empower women through my designs along with joint-ventures created by other designers and clothing lines.
B. Fly Apparel is?
B. Fly Apparel is not only a brand but also a collection of classy, elegant, funky, casual and timeless pieces that will satisfy the fashion desires of most women. B. Fly offers new, innovative and fast rising designers that would captivate and suite women of all genres.
Outside of B. Fly Apparel, I know you have other jobs in the fashion industry. Could you let the readers know more about what you do outside of B. Fly Apparel?
Outside of B. Fly Apparel, I also do wardrobe styling for editorials, public appearances, video, print, and/or private events. I offer Image Consulting, Personal Shopping, and Closet Organization to my clients.
What was the first item of clothing you sold at B. Fly Apparel?
When I sold my first piece of clothing, it was a fabulous uniquely made denim and leather jacket with beading and crystal encrusted shoulders. It was giving Michael Jackson but with a B. Fly edge!
In the Fall/Winter months a jacket and/or coat are the most important part of your outfit. It is what people see first. It makes a statement and pulls everything together.

Where do you see B. Fly Apparel in the next 3-5 years?
I see B. Fly Apparel in the next 3-5 years becoming a larger brand. My goal is to become more established and to open a storefront location in the Washington, D.C. area.
